The “dance drawings” occur as live-drawings of contemporary dance in a moment:
They are created during a dance performance from the perspective of the audience sitting in the darkness of the theater.
Amidst the darkness, the dynamics of the music and the movements, fleeting and intense moments of the choreography are intuitively captured and nearly blindly transcribed onto drawing paper using chalk or pastels. These are then further enriched with a few colorations.
The dance drawings captures specific sequences in the present moment performed by dancers.
